Coffee with a Purpose, Coffee with a Heart.
We’re Tim and Laura. Our story (and our business) began over 20 years ago at a local coffee shop. Coffee has been the thread that connected our lives and led to something larger.
About 13 years ago, Tim started roasting coffee to learn more about the process, from origin to roast profile. Two years later, we began selling our roasts at farmers markets, including Monument Hill Farmer’s Market. That is where our family business started. We met people, heard their stories, and saw smiles with the first sip.
From the start, we wanted our business to be about more than us. One night, the slogan came to Laura in a dream: “Coffee with a Purpose, Coffee with a Heart.” That became our guide. We decided to direct a portion of proceeds to fight human trafficking.Through a local non-profit Messenger International in Palmer Lake, we support these organizations:
A21 rescuing and restoring survivors while preventing exploitation.
The Exodus Road working with law enforcement for investigations, rescues, and survivor care (based in Colorado Springs).
Our Daughters International focusing on prevention, advocacy, and justice in vulnerable communities.
Live Action exposing and addressing issues related to child sex trafficking and exploitation.
If our donations have helped save one life from trafficking, it would have been worth the effort. With our customers’ support, we have contributed to efforts that have helped rescue and restore hundreds of lives. That keeps us going.
Over the years, we have grown in roasting skills and in our family. Our two sons now learn the craft and share our interest in coffee. Through word of mouth and support from our community in Colorado Springs and beyond, we have expanded while keeping small-batch, fresh roasted coffee.
We are grateful for what we do and for our community. We appreciate that every cup you buy helps support a mission larger than coffee.
Thank you for choosing us, for choosing coffee with a purpose, coffee with a heart.
